This Ubuntu VMware image is a Gnome 2.22.1 full desktop installation of the current stable Ubuntu distribution Hardy Heron 8.04. The latest VMware Tools are installed and fully functional. It is useful for working with Ubuntu and e.g. Windows together: Ubuntu Hardy Heron VMware image. The appliance is prepared for virtual networking between host and guest via SMBFS, CIFS or Shared Folders. A Getting Started page introduces you to Debian-based distributions in a VMware environment. With the host system being online the Ubuntu Linux appliance is prepared to install software choosing from about 24800 free packages of the Ubuntu binary repositories. Passwords, the readme file, a documentation of the installation process and everything else that might be useful is included in the download.
