The LinuxMint VMware appliance is a full desktop Gnome 2.20 installation of the stable LinuxMint distribution 4.0 Daryna Light. VMware Tools are installed and fully functional. It is intended to be used for working with Windows and LinuxMint together: LinuxMint Daryna in VMware. To accomplish this the appliance is prepared for setting up networking between host and guest via SMBFS or CIFS. Workstation users can alternatively use the Shared Folders feature. There is a homepage that explains these and other things in detail. For Windows users wanting to have a first look at Linux there is a Getting Started section. If the host is online the appliance is ready to install software choosing from 24000 free packages of the Ubuntu repositories. Passwords, a readme file, a complete documentation of the installation process and everything else you need is included in the zip file.
